Dommin's Billy James on stage in Flint 8-18-10

Last Wednesday, alternative rock band Dommin came through Flint, Michigan supporting Danish rock band Volbeat.
Before the show, Dommin bassist Billy James took a few minutes to share his thoughts on the band's progress over the last year.
Back in April, I interviewed Dommin vocalist Kristofer Dommin right after their tour supporting Finnish rock band HIM had started.
At the time, Kristofer spoke about how he felt that the tour was going to be a good one because he could already see that the HIM fans were finding their brand of music to be enjoyable.
On Wednesday I asked James about the exposure that the HIM tour had gotten Dommin.
"It was one of our biggest tours so far. It was awesome. It was everything that we could have asked for at this point."
He went on to share that their music had fit in well, "Their fans in general really appreciated us on that tour."
After the tour, the band went on to do some headlining shows and they found that they had brought that fan base with them which led to them getting picked to open their current tour with Volbeat.
James says that they intend to do another run of headlining shows in November and then hope to go back out as a support act.
The band is currently getting material together for their follow-up to their debut album Love Is Gone.
After talking about their tour opening for another Finnish rock band The 69 Eyes, James laughed when asked about why they seem to be touring with all the Finnish bands, "Yeah, that's funny. The 69 Eyes and HIM style worked with ours. It seems like they have that Helsinki Vampires gothic thing going on. I can see why they asked us to tour with them."
